Ian Headshots Photo Shoot

IMG_3626-bw

The inimitable and talented Ian, a longtime friend of the stage at Bandera High School, came in last week with a need for a quick round of headshots for an upcoming play audition.

Theatre people are always great in front of the camera. They know how to throw a pose and express an emotion or feeling through their look and body language.

Ias, a senior who graduated from Bandera High School this year, was no different, and we sat down together after his shoot to look at the photos on our massive viewing monitor. We picked out our mutual favorites, looked at them in color and black and white with different crops, and he picked out these three as his favorites.

Many thanks for the great shoot, Ian, and I hope your stage career is wonderfully successful!

Courtney Senior Photo Shoot

You can always tell the creative types by their imagination in front of the camera.

Courtney, a wonderful dancer with the BHS Star Steppers, was definitely a fellow artist. As I’ve written here before, there is much love to be shown to traditional portraiture, but what gets my creative motor going is doing something new and exciting.

Courtney had a bunch of wonderful ideas for her shoot, and she was ready to go with whatever opportunities presented themselves. We shot in the studio, against the studio wall, on the carpet, outside the building, in the auto graveyard behind the mechanic’s shop, and as is senior tradition, down along the Medina River.

I had so much fun and the photos make wonderful additions to my portfolio. Thank you Courtney for a great shoot!

Keep in mind seniors, with no session fees and no minimum orders, it’s never too late or too early to set up a shoot with us.

I know graduation is within a week or two for all of our Bandera County high schools, but we can rock great senior photos post-graduation, over the summer, and for up-and-coming seniors, anytime. If you’ve already done senior photos with another photographer or studio, please don’t hesitate to give us a try. There’s no cost, no risk, and the fun factor is most high.

Give me a call or e-mail me to set up your shoot! We’re always ready to make some Uniquely Wonderful art.

Bandera High School Project Graduation Prom Fashion Show 2009 Photo Shoot

img_6923-bw

Many thanks to all those who came out to support Project Graduation at the Bandera High School Prom Fashion Show on Sunday. Outlaw Photography was there and happy to support such a fun event and worthy cause.

We set up our studio on location at the Silver Sage Corral and snapped photos of the lovely models as they exited the runway. The guys were hamming it up and the girls look fabulous in their prom dresses. My job behind the camera was made easy by these seniors.

You can find all of our photos from the event over at Bandera.net in the Photo Gallery. I snapped a few candids and plenty of studio shots of the seniors and Jacklen grabbed some candid runway photos as the models strutted their stuff.

While Mike Keith and Co. traditionally do the official formals at prom for Bandera, I will be out snapping candids on the dance floor at Schreiner for the Bandera Bulletin, and Jacklen is thinking about doing a make-up and/or formal pre-prom photo shoot special event earlier in the day. If you’re interested, e-mail her and let her know!

Julia Senior Photo Shoot

If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it twice, and I’ll say it a thousand times more – I am absolutely blessed to work with some of the best high school seniors in the world.

I’ve shot seniors from Utopia, Medina, and Bandera High School for years, and quite a few seniors from surrounding school districts as well who find Outlaw Photography online and like how we throw down.

Julia is one of those awesome BHS seniors I’ve had the pleasure of working with, and most awesomely, she brought along both her dog and her Volkswagen New Beetle.

I’ve shot Julia many times for sports, mostly setting for the Lady Bulldogs volleyball team. When I ran into her in the parking lot of a Bulldogs football game last year, she was admiring her New Beetle with some friends, and I knew there was a great photo shoot to be had.

Julia didn’t disappoint; in fact, I had no idea she had such awesome hair! I had only seen it pushed back into a pony tail for sports, so I was stunned when she strode into the studio with that Taylor Swift hair.

Thank you for a truly wonderful shoot, Julia! You and your Beetle belong in front of the camera!
