Martin & Ashleigh Engagement Photo Shoot

IMG_9056

I couldn’t ask for a more lovely couple to photograph.

And the location was hard to beat as well. For couples, engagement and bridal photography, I am a huge fan of the San Antonio Botanical Gardens and the neighboring Japanese Tea Gardens.

These  photos were taken at the Tea Gardens, and Martin and Ashleigh were a beautiful couple to work with. They have that delightful, smiley, sticky-sweet love that makes adoration spill from every photo. It’s a beautiful thing to see, and especially photograph.

We were at the gardens late in the evening to catch that golden hour of light that you see here, and the park had closed down the bathrooms! Martin and Ashleigh had brought a beautiful blue/yellow pair of outfits to wear for the second half of the shoot, and troopers that they are, ended up changing in the woods! Now that’s the kind of dedication to making great photos that a photographer loves.

Thank you guys so much for the wonderful shoot! Can’t wait for the next one to come!

George Cooney Pet Photo Shoot

img_7444

While photographing a band out at 11th Street Cowboy Bar, I stumbled across John and his uhm, interesting.. pet. Meet “George Cooney” – John’s domesticized pet raccoon! I absolutely adore raccoons.. my family raised two babies once, but they grew up and ran away eventually.. George is five years old and goes everywhere with John. I took a few photos of George there at 11th Street, but of course I offered John my card and asked if he’d consider bringing George in for a proper portrait.. and the next morning, he sure did!
George was excited by so much “stuff” in the camera room that it was hard to get a good one, but we did get a couple – hopefully they can come back and try a few more the next time John is in town! :)

McGovern Family Children’s Photo Shoot

When I posted my most recent ad on Craigslist, Jenni was one of the first to respond – she wanted to bring in  Lexi, Travis, and Kaeleb -  who are 5, 1, and 3 years old.  I personally love sibling sessions.. more babies and more kids in one spot at the same time! Yay for me!

The two oldest were so full of energy, I got some great action shots! LOL while the baby was just thrilled to be there.. check out those adorable Michelin-Man rolls! I absolutely LOVE chunky babies, so I was in hog-heaven with this little cutie pie! I can’t wait until he comes back for his birthday session.. can you imagine the cake and icing all over those pinchable folds??! I’m so looking forward to that!

Kelley Family Photo Shoot

I met Amber while my kids and I were toodling around Babies R Us one day.. her little girl Savanna was in her car seat there in the stroller, and I saw her little feet just a-kickin’.. I stopped and said hello, only to peek in and see the most adorable head of hair I’ve ever seen on a baby!
My little girl and Amber’s little boy really hit it off, and ended up holding hands and walking through the aisles while Amber and I shook our heads and laughed. I knew she would be awesome and of course asked her to bring the kids in.. She brought the hubby, and all three kids – we did some studio and some location in this terrific field I’ve been dying to try out, and the Kelly Family was just perfect for it too! I’m so glad we met, and I hope they come back in again for Savanna’s birthday, when the time comes!

Ian Headshots Photo Shoot

IMG_3626-bw

The inimitable and talented Ian, a longtime friend of the stage at Bandera High School, came in last week with a need for a quick round of headshots for an upcoming play audition.

Theatre people are always great in front of the camera. They know how to throw a pose and express an emotion or feeling through their look and body language.

Ias, a senior who graduated from Bandera High School this year, was no different, and we sat down together after his shoot to look at the photos on our massive viewing monitor. We picked out our mutual favorites, looked at them in color and black and white with different crops, and he picked out these three as his favorites.

Many thanks for the great shoot, Ian, and I hope your stage career is wonderfully successful!
